Natural Breakdown is inspired by how mass media influences our behavior and the ways we relate to each other. In a world that grows increasingly smaller, it provides us the opportunity of being closer to the ones far away, as we become more distant from the person sitting by our side.

Yolande Snaith, London/San Diego

Hanging In The Balance is a new work using everything from baroque harpsichord to tribal didgeridoo in its literal and metaphorical exploration of light and dark. As the sound, choreography, and images take shape, there emerges a highly contemporary, deeply human dance.

Patricia Rincon, San Diego

Tres e Quatro and Waiting (a video film) are two new dance video works resulting from the artistic director’s recent time spent in Buenos Aires. Tres e Quatro attempts to capture the multi-faceted energy of Buenos Aries city and of its people—a community of diversity, strength, passion, tragedy, spirituality, stress, beauty. Waiting is a video film created while in Buenos Aires in collaboration with native video artist Paula Zacharias, using recent footage from the streets and milongas.

This year's Blurred Borders Dance Festival is being

sponsored by San Diego City College Department of Visual and

Performing Arts, and a grant from the World Cultures Department.

* The Emerge Festival 2008 (V) *
October 2008

In conjunction with The Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center, The Emerge Festival presents a rare opportunity for up-and-coming choreographers/artists to present their work. PRDC is a producing partner with JCC and creator David Atchison to make it happen again.

A rare opportunity for up-and-coming San Diego choreographers/artists (voted by committee) to show their stuff. Often edgy; raw and polished; always compelling.

Please send a video/DVD and information about your dance (that you would be presenting) to:
