ENCINITAS FRIDAY NIGHT

SALSA CLASSES

10-year Anniversary Performance Showcase

Friday, June 5th, 2009

A big shout-out to the many people who came to the 10-year anniversary performances of the Encinitas Friday Night Salsa classes last week. There was excellent salsa, Cuban rumba, rueda de casino, flamenco, reggaeton -- with open club-style dancing afterwards, and celebratory libations next door at When In Rome ristorante. It was a magical night.

Every Friday night is a real happening at the Performing Arts Workshop dance studio in Encinitas. It is being called the largest ongoing weekly salsa class in Southern California! Come see why any Friday night. It has everything to do with Tony and Maria Caligagan, former "Jerome Robbins' Broadway" dancers, two of the best instructors you might have the good fortune to learn from. Or our frequent guest instructor, world-class salsa instructor, Sandra Rivera.

From sending email reminders to the original 12 people each week, to now sending out dance/arts news stuff to almost 3,000 weekly, and that's only a portion of you who've signed up for this newsletter. We thank you for being part of the mix.

Salsa Class & Other Such Photos ...

This class has also been featured in the San Diego Union Tribune, North County Times, The Coast News, and other print media, and featured on various Internet sites as maybe the best salsa dance class in San Diego! Partners not necessary. (There are always lots of single folk.)

It's no coincidence this class is so popular. It's very supportive, very inclusive. With a lot of very cool folks. Age range is all over the place. Learning to dance salsa really does not get any better (or more fun) than this class. Friday nights in Encinitas are a real happening, and it's not just about the salsa!

Come check it out and see how great it feels to dance to salsa music! And if you're a little nervous about trying salsa, remember the wonderful quote by French writer Anais Nin: "Life shrinks and expands in proportion to one's courage."

Come have a blast, and learn to salsa dance in the process. (Or is it the other way around? I'm forgetting.)
